The Canadian lynx (Lynx canadensis) is one of three wild cat species in Canada. These specialists, depend heavily on the snowshoe hare population. Their giant feet let them cover large territories in deep snow. Found across the northern ranges of Canada and the US, including the Chilcotin Mountain Range in British Columbia, lynx are silent hunters. Watching from a blind, I had the magical experience of hearing the plaintiff song of the this lynx calling it’s mate.
