Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park preserves an intact ecosystem with indigenous wild reindeer herds, wild muskox (Ovibos moschatus), arctic fox and wolverine. Located in Eastern Norway between Oslo and Trondheim, what was billed as a 6 mile hike turned into one of my most strenuous outings. The 14 km hike in 90 km headwinds was worth the trek when we found a heard of male muskox posturing for head of the heard.
