About Barb

Growing up in northern Manitoba, I developed a fascination with the north and the resilience of the wildlife that call it home. Spending time understanding the natural world recharges your spirit and helps you to appreciate the need to protect fragile ecosystems for future generations. There is no experience greater than the moment that a three month old polar bear cub first emerges from the den, or earning the trust of a coastal wolf pack as they carry on their daily lives in their natural habitat. By creating this website, it’s my hope that in sharing some of this magic with you, you’ll want to protect our natural world too.

I Am

A northern Manitoba-born wildlife photographer currently living in the Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Through visual story telling, my goal is to share my experiences and give wildlife a voice.

I Do

Experiencing nature first hand takes patience and enjoying the extremes of temperatures, climate and accommodations. The opportunities I’ve had to capture the wild world wouldn’t be possible without experienced guides, many of whom are First Nations, who have given me unparalleled access to remote locations and have generously shared their knowledge of the land.

I Give

All proceeds from the sale of my images are donated to charitable organizations with the mandate to protect biodiversity critical to our planet and to educate us on human impacts and how to better mitigate them.
